With the resounding success of the 2013 FIBA Americas Championships for Men and Women, FIBA Americas prepares for what will be the last Olympics qualifying continental Championship. Several countries expressed their interest in hosting the continent's most important championship.

Fifteen national teams from across four FIBA zones met the 30 October deadline to submit their applications for the four wild cards that will complete the line-up for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

VEN2013 - Historic: Brazil lost to Jamaica and was eliminated

Jamaica defeated Brazil, 78-76 and eliminated the Brazilian team from the FIBA Americas Championship. On the other hand, the team led by Sam Vincent qualified for the second Round of the tournament. Samardo Samuels was the top scorer for Jamaica, with 21 points.

VEN2013 – Uruguay sentenced Brazil

The group led by Pablo Lopez defeated Brazil, 79-73 in a game on the fourth day of competition in the FIBA Americas Championship. The Uruguayan team, which seemed to have everything under control, had to suffer in the end to celebrate. The figure for the Uruguayan was Esteban Batista, with 22 points and 13 rebounds.

VEN2013 - Puerto Rico reacts in time and defeats Brazil

Puerto Rico defeated Brazil, 72-65 and started on the right foot their way in Group A of the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship in Caracas, Venezuela. TUTO2013 - Puerto Rico is crowned Champion 2013 Tuto Cup

Puerto Rico defeated Argentina, 89-81, to end the Jenaro “Tuto” Marchand Continental Cup as champion for the first time. Argentina finished in second and brazil in third place. Carlos Arroyo and Jose Juan Barea were selected as the Most Valuable Players of the Cup.
