With the resounding success of the 2013 FIBA Americas Championships for Men and Women, FIBA Americas prepares for what will be the last Olympics qualifying continental Championship. Several countries expressed their interest in hosting the continent's most important championship.

Julio Lamas team raised his level at the second half, defeated Canada, 73-67 and got his ticket to the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain. The key player of the match for Argentina was Luis Scola, who scored 28 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

With great sacrifice and intensity, Venezuela defeated Canada, 64-59, to add another vital win in the second round of the FIBA Americas Championship in Caracas, Venezuela. Nestor Colmenares was the best scorer of the "Vinotinto" with 13 points.

VEN2013 - Canada celebrated over Mexico

Canada had an excellent fourth quarter and swept Mexico, 89-67, for a victory to start the second phase of the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship. The cast of Jay Triano had 16 triples and had much input from the alternates (33 points). Brady Heslip was the best scorer with 21 points.

VEN2013 - Canada defeated Uruguay to close the First Round

With a strong command from the beginning, the team led by Jay Triano defeated Uruguay, 93-67, in the last match of Group A of the FIBA Americas Championship. The scorer of the game was the Orlando Magic player, Andrew Nicholson, with 18 points.

VEN2013 – Canada was strong against Brazil

On the third day of Group A of the FIBA Americas Championship in Caracas, Canada showed an excellent level in all facets of his game and crushed Brazil, 91-62. Point guard Cory Joseph with 28 points, was man of the match.

VEN2013 – Amazing fourth quarter gives Puerto Rico a win over Canada

When it seemed that the story was complicated, Puerto Rico managed to break parity in the fourth quarter and defeat Canada 83-67, on the second day of the Group A of the FIBA Americas Championship in Caracas, Venezuela. Carlos Arroyo was the best scorer for Puerto Rico with 20 points and for Canada the best scorer was Andrew Nicholson with 21 points.
