SPAIN2014 - Qualification for 2014 FIBA World Cup ends, attribution of four wild cards to come
The qualification process for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup came to a close on Sunday 22 September with the conclusion of EuroBasket 2013 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. As a result of this, 20 of the 24 national teams that will compete in FIBA’s flagship event next summer (30 August - 14 September 2014) are now known, with the remaining four to be determined through the attribution of wild cards by FIBA.

The group led by Orlando Antigua defeated Jamaica, 78-60, in the first game of the Second Round of the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship. The Dominican James Feldeine was the best scorer for his team with 22 points and 5 rebounds.

VEN2013 - Dominican Republic defeats Paraguay in historical circumstances

When Dominican comfortably defeated Paraguay by 83-54, in Group B of the FIBA Americas Championship, a power outage forced to suspend play, with 4:23 remaining. That was declare the end of the match. Until then, the best scorer for the winners was Karl Towns, with 16 points.

VEN2013 - Mexico celebrated after defeating the Dominican Republic

On the fourth day of competition of the FIBA Americas Championship, the team coached by Sergio Valdeolmillos defeated the Dominican republic, 85-61. Mexico's Orlando Mendez was the top scorer of the match with 26 points and 5 assists.

Before a packed Poliedro and in the best match of the tournament, Venezuela, with great sacrifice and gold defense, defeated the Dominican Republic, 75-70, and scored the teams second victory in the Group B of the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship in Caracas, Venezuela. Donta Smith was the best scorer for Venezuelawith 19 points.
